Milltown dog

The dog days of August they spilled over to September at the Milltown Primary School.

The welcomed guests from Creature Comfort Pet Therapy were Quinn, a 5-year-old Golden Retriever, and her handler Marcy, who paid a call to Milltown on Wednesday, September 18.

Quinn and Marcy visited the classrooms throughout the day when students and staff embraced and petted the friendly dog.

Creature Comfort Pet Therapy is based out of Madison in Morris County.

According to its website,  Creature Comfort Pet Therapy offers more than 500 pet therapy teams, including dogs, cats, rabbits, a goat, guinea pigs, and a mini horse. The volunteer teams have provided approximately 300 monthly visits to our partner facilities, including nursing homes, public and private schools, libraries, hospitals, children's services, hospices, mental health centers, and veterans programs.

"Our District developed a partnership this year with Creature Create, and they are a wonderful group that coordinates volunteers and their pet therapy-trained dogs to visit schools. We hope to have more visits in the upcoming months,' Milltown Principal Matt Lembo said.
