crim market day

The 4th Grade students gave their sales pitch—very successfully–at the Crim Primary School on Wednesday, December 18.

That afternoon the 4th Grade classrooms were transformed into showrooms where the students participated in Crim’s annual Market Day.

Dayna Lombardo, one of the five 4th Grade teachers, explained the mission that the students learned and could book for their future.

“Market Day is a great opportunity for our 4th Grade students to put economics into action,” Ms. Lombardo said.

“For Market Day, students had to decide whether they would provide a good or service, and then adjust their pricing based on the supply and demand balance,” Ms. Lombardo reported.

Her classroom, as well as the classrooms of her colleagues, Jessica Gallucci, Avani Morales, Jeanne Faryna, and Stephanie Stark, were a thriving market space where customers were handed play money to purchase the various gifts for sale.

“Every year it is amazing to see how much creativity the students come up with - this year I had everything from a game, ornaments, slime, jewelry, and pom-pom friends,” Ms. Lombardo revealed. “ They all leave the day saying how much fun they had learning about how economics works”
