An old nemesis defeated the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Unified Basketball Team again.
Bridgewater-Raritan’s Unified Basketball Team was eliminated from the NJSIAA Group A tournament’s semifinals for the second straight year by Hunterdon Central Regional High School.
On Tuesday afternoon, March 11, third-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan was edged by seventh-seeded Hunterdon Central, 27-24, before an enthusiastic crowd at Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s old gym.
One year ago in the state tournament semifinals, Bridgewater-Raritan was defeated by Hunterdon Central, 31-26, at Bridgewater Raritan High School’s Vaughn Stapleton Gymnasium.
Bridgewater-Raritan also suffered both of its losses during the regular season this winter to Hunterdon Central.
Hunterdon Central will play the winner of the other state semifinal between top-seeded Bloomfield High School and ninth-seeded West Morris Central High School in the state championship game on Sunday, March 16, at Rutgers University’s Jersey Mike’s Arena.
Bridgewater-Raritan finished its third year playing Unified Basketball with a 7-3 overall record.
