A return trip to the semifinal rund of the state tournament was achieved by the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Unified Basketball Team.
Bridgewater-Raritan, seeded third, opened the Group A state tournament with a 35-29 quarterfinal victory over sixth-seeded Ewing High Schol on Tuesday, March 4, at Bridgewater-Raritan High School's old gym.
Bridgewater-Raritan will play in the semifinals against the winner of the quaterfinal matchup between second-seeded Florence High School and seventh-seeded Hunterdon Central Regional High School that will be held on Wednesday, March 5.
.The state semifinals will be played next week on March 10, 11 or 12 at the gym of the higher seed.
Bridgewater-Raitan had advanced to the state semifinals last year when it was defeated by Hunterdon Cenrtal. Both of Bridgewater-Raritan's defeats in a 6-2 regualr season this winter came to Hunterdon Central.
The Group A state final is scheduled for Sunday, March 16, at Rutgers University.
