BRH SUnified team before states

other crack at winning a state tournament championship will be the focus of the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Unified Basketball Team.

The Bridgewater-Raritan Unified Basketball Team, which is seeded third, will open its play in the NJSIAA Group A tournament on Tuesday, March 4, at home in the high school’s old gym against sixth-seeded Ewing High School. Game time for this state tournament quarterfinal game is 4 p.m.

A victory would advance Bridgewater-Raritan to the semifinals that are scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at the gym of the higher-seeded team.

If Bridgewater-Raritan defeats Ewing, then it may gain the opportunity to avenge its loss in the 2024 state tournament semifinals as well as both its defeats this winter.

Bridgewater-Raritan was eliminated last year in the state tournament by Hunterdon Central Regional High School, 31-26, while the Panthers have suffered both of their losses this year to Hunterdon Central. Bridgewater-Raritan ended the regular season this winter with a 6-2 record.

Hunterdon Central, seeded seventh this season in Group A, must first get past second-seeded Florence High School in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 7, in Florence.

The Group A state tournament championship game is scheduled for Sunday, March 16, at Rutgers University’s Jersey Mike’s Arena in Piscataway. The top seed in the Group A state tournament is Bloomfield High School.
