With its return to the Somerset County Girls’ Soccer Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2022, the fourth-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan High School girls’ soccer team earned a trip to top-seeded Rutgers Preparatory School: ranked No. 1 in New Jersey and No. 2 in the country.
Senior All-American Addison Halpern, who is heading to the University of Virginia, scored the first of her four first-half goals just 23 seconds after kickoff for top-seeded Rutgers Prep (12-0), which pitched its seventh shutout in its last eight games via a 5-0 victory over fourth-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan (8-4-1) in the Somerset County Girls’ Soccer Tournament semifinals Wednesday, October 16, in Somerset.
Next up for Bridgewater-Raritan, which has a perfect 5-0 record on its Turf 2 home field so far this season will be a big home game against Morristown High School (11-3) at 11:45 am Saturday, October 19.
Bridgewater-Raritan is currently ranked No. 3 in the NJSIAA Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 Power Points rankings only behind No. 2 Bayonne High School and No. 1 Westfield High School.
