BR runnr Chu wins Thompson 2miler

Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s sophomore cross-country runners were the class of the race.

The sophomore runners for Bridgewater-Raritan, guided by individual champion Kaithlyn Chu, won the Sophomore Class race during the Thompson Park 2-Miler on Saturday, September 14, at Thompson Park in Monroe.

Chu crossed first with a time of 12:58 to steer Bridgewater-Raritan to first place in a field of 18 teams. Bridgewater-Raritan’s championship effort was also sparked by sophomores Sofia Daniels, who finished fourth in a time of 13:18, and Lana Guelich, who placed 11th in 13:40.

Bridgewater-Raritan's senior runners placed fourth out of 11 teams in the Senior Class race.

The top senior finishers for Bridgewater-Raritan were Jesssica Borchert, who placed eighth in 12:49, Diya Inta, who came in 22nd in 13:52, and Stacey Yang, who finished 25th in 14:15.

Annabella Mastropasqua placed 21st in 15:29 and EmilyThai finished 23rd in 15:30 during the Freshman Class race for Bridgewater-Raritan. No juniors from Bridgewater-Raritan raced at Thompson Park.
