A call to the bullpen is an action that the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District can rely on with confidence.

That call is placed to a substitute teacher, whom the school district has faith in to come and fill in with a sparkling effort.

Monday, November 18, is a day when these substitutes are recognized.

Dr. Dan Fonder, the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, applauded the work of the substitutes who rise to the occasion at each of the 11 schools in the district.

“In honor of National Substitute Educators Day (November 18), we extend our sincere thanks for all that our substitute educators do for our staff and students each day,” Dr. Fonder stated. “Through their efforts, the schools have a safe and caring learning environment for our students when a regular staff member is absent.”

Dr. Fonder continued to share the beliefs of the school district toward substitute teachers.

“We recognize the challenge of working in a role where the students and content area often change daily,” Dr. Fonder said.

He concluded:

“On behalf of our entire school district community, we express appreciation for our substitute educators' dedication and flexibility as they approach each new day with enthusiasm and professionalism.”
